Staff Sgt. Anthony Garcia, a 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit embarkation chief, wipes water out of his eyes after shedding combat gear underwater during Marine Combat Water Survival Training at a combat training pool on Camp Johnson, N.C., May 24, 2012. The U.S. Marine Corps and 26th MEU are an amphibious assault force. Therefore all Marines are required to know how to survive in the water. Participants wear all of their combat gear, including a rifle, helmet, flak jacket and assault pack, increasing their confidence in a forward-deployed environment.
