191120-N-HK234-5014 ATSUGI, Japan (Nov. 20, 2019) Builder Constructionman Byron Cruz, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Atsugi, excavates and loads soil onto the back of a truck bed in preparation of constructing a loading dock at the Navy Exchange, Naval Air Facility Atsugi. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
