Thannenkirch, FRANCE – Five soldiers with the 5th Battalion, 7th Air Defense Artillery Regiment’s Color Guard stand in front French children singing at the Hotel du Haut-Koenigsbourg, where a plaque was unveiled in honor of 2nd Lt. Armand Schiber, a French resistance member, who was born there, during the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Thannenkirch, France, Dec. 1. The hotel was also used shortly in the war as a US Army headquarters, according to the current owners of the hotel, Steve and Regine John.
