Fort Carson soldiers will join U.S. Troops in celebrating the Army’s 237th Birthday, June 14, 2012. According to the Institute of Heraldry, the Roman cuirass located in the center of the emblem is a symbol of strength and defense; the sword, esponton, musket, bayonet, cannon, mortar, cannon balls and mortar bombs represent the armaments used in defense of the nation.
