A Coast Guard diver cuts through a damaged Aid to Navigation (ATON) structure around Key West, Florida. Divers conducted a similar operation in the New Jersey Intracoastal Waterway (ICW) with Aids to Navigation Team Cape May, N.J. They worked together to remove thousands of pounds of jagged steel channel markers from the New Jersey Intracoastal Waterway, saving an estimated $269,000 in contractor costs. Divers conduct a wide variety of missions, from port security to ATON removal. U.S. Coast Guard photo.
