191127-N-ZW591-1006 SASEBO, Japan (Nov. 27, 2019) Utilitiesman 2nd Class Jordan Gouge, from Lawton, Oklahoma, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Sasebo, cuts lids to fit into place for the recently place u-ditch, which is precast concrete in the shape of a U, as a part of the seawall repair project on board Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo to further improve the base’s military readiness and capability. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
