U.S. Army Sgt. Marshall H. Edgerton, assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 82nd Airborne Division, and his family stand for the national anthem during a barracks and stone dedication ceremony on Fort Gordon, Georgia, Dec. 11, 2019. Edgerton deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom from July 2002 to Jan. 2003 with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd Airborne Division. He volunteered to deploy in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom with Alpha Company, 82nd Signal Battalion, 82nd Abn.
