U.S. Army Col. Scott Holden, Kurdistan Coordination Center director, meets with Maj. Gen. Sirwan Barzani, a Peshmerga commander, at the Black Tiger Camp in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Dec. 14, 2019. Holden and Barzani discussed successes the Peshmerga have had in recent years in forcing Daesh out of the area in order to regain regional stability. Ensuring Daesh does not rise again after the destruction of their physical caliphate will take a whole-of-government approach.
