SOUTH CHINA SEA (Dec. 16, 2019) Fire Controlman 2nd Class Bryce Richards, from Poway, Calif., prepares to fire a shot-line from the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS McCampbell (DDG 85) to the fleet replenishment ship USNS Richard E. Byrd (T-AKE 4) during a replenishment-at-sea. McCampbell is underway conducting operations in the Indo-Pacific region while assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest forward-deployed DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force.
