191212-N-SQ656-043 SASEBO, Japan (Dec. 12, 2019) Cmdr. Greta Densham thanks her team during the change of command ceremony for Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7 onboard Commander, Fleet Activities Sasebo. Cmdr. Kirk Sowers relieved Cmdr. Greta Densham as Commanding Officer. Under Densham’s leadership, the NBU 7 team completed eight forward-deployed naval forces (FDNF) deployments, 20 multi-lateral exercises, and two disaster relief efforts in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility. In November, the unit participated in Tiger Triumph, the first-ever tri-service exercise involving the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps and Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.
