ATLANTIC OCEAN (Dec. 17, 2019) - Cmdr. Christopher Carroll, commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64), from Albuquerque, New Mexico, sits in the captain’s chair on the port bridge wing during a routine passing exercise with the U.S. Navy’s destroyer squadron 60 and the Spanish Navy’s 31st surface squadron, Dec. 17, 2019. Carney, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is on its seventh patrol in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of regional allies and partners as well as U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
