RED SEA (Dec. 16, 2019) Damage Controlman 3rd Class Ivy Stockman, acting as gas-free engineer, takes a reading from a hexafluoropropane bottle with a refrigerant leak detector in the auxiliary one space as part of a simulated toxic gas leak during an at-sea fire party drill aboard the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60). The Normandy is part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group and is operating in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
