BREMERTON, Wash. (November 2, 2019) Tim Rice (left), a volunteer canine, or dog, handler for air scent and trailing dogs, with Kitsap County Search Dogs and Quartermaster 3rd Class Joel Lopez, assigned to USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), reward Kimber, Tim’s air scent dog trained to locate missing personnel, with a snack after completing training near the Seeds of Grace garden. The trainings help prepare dogs like Kimber for situations that may arise during a real search and rescue scenario. Carl Vinson is currently dry-docked undergoing scheduled maintenance.
