Lance Cpl. Robert A. Smith, III, an infantryman with 3rd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, and native of Buffalo, N.Y., stands guard at the Vietnam War Memorial Wall in Voinovich Park Cleveland June 12, 2012. The traveling wall, which lists the names of those fallen in the Vietnam War, was erected during Marine Week Cleveland and is the site of a wreath-laying ceremony by a Gold Star family member daily. The sentries serve hourly posts from eight in the morning until 10 at night. Marine veteran Cleveland police officers volunteered to take the night shifts to show their support for their fallen brothers. More than 750 Marines will be in Cleveland all week displaying Marine aircraft, vehicles and equipment, as well as interacting and sharing with the public the values and character of the Marine Corps. One of the culminating events will be a Marine Air Ground Task Force demonstration, which showcases Marines' ability to assault from ship-to-shore via ground and air, June 16-17 at Burke Lakefront Airport.
