A U.S. Marine student with Basic Reconnaissance Course, Advanced Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry - West, uses hand signals to communicate with an instructor during a land navigation evaluation as part of the course’s individual skills phase on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Jan. 15, 2020. During the evaluation, students must remain 50 meters apart from each other and locate ten points on their own.
