The Honorable Thomas Hicks, deputy assistant Secretary of the Navy, speaks to guests at the opening ceremony for the Miramar Power Project aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar June 14. Hicks attended the ceremony to express his thanks to all who worked on the project. The concept for it began in 2007 and developed as a joint venture between the City of San Diego, Fortistar LLC and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar.
