191212-N-MD802-1038 GULF OF OMAN (Dec. 12, 2019) The guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99) fires its Mark 45 5-inch gun during a live-fire exercise. Farragut is part of the Lincoln Carrier Strike Group and is operating in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
