Soldiers with 1st Platoon, Charlie Company, 223 Infantry, 4th Brigade, 2nd Infantry, acting on a tip from a local resident, conduct an inspection on a mysterious bag thought to be an improvised explosive device in the region of Rashid in the city of Baghdad on July 19. The Soldiers with Charlie 223 Inf. frequently respond to tips by local residents of IED placement and quickly seek to confirm and request proper removal of any dangerous explosive device. These tips usually come during routine security patrols designed to create the safest environment possible for local residents.
