Cpl. Reagan P. Lodge, a combat photographer with Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., quietly sketches the crowd around a light amphibious vehicle June 14, during Marine Corps Week Cleveland, which ends June 17. Typically, a combat photographer works with professional-grade camera equipment to capture moments. On this occasion, Lodge put down his camera to create vivid imagery through his preferred medium: a specialized ink pen, a brush-tipped ink pen and leather-bound sketchbook. Crowds of people flocked to Public Square to catch a glimpse of military tactical vehicles and demonstrations. More than 750 Marines invaded the city of Cleveland for the weeklong military extravaganza. Marine Week served as an opportunity to show community members the diverse capabilities of the Corps in air, on land and at sea.
