Electronics Technician 2nd Class Michal Skaggs, assigned to the USS Maryland (SSBN 738), learns how to use the bread cutter from instructor Doris Franz-Poling, volunteer manager for Our Daily Bread Employment Center, a charitable feeding facility of Catholic Charities, during the USS Maryland sailors' visit to Baltimore's Star-Spangled Sailabration. Star-Spangled Sailabration is the national launch of the three-year commemoration by the U.S. Navy and the State of Maryland of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812 and the penning of "The Star-Spangled Banner" by Francis Scott Key.
