A section of a Marine Causeway System is moved into place at McMurdo Station Antarctica. The MCS replaces the traditionally used ice-pier for cargo operations, due to damages. The MCS was part of nearly six thousand tons of cargo delivered by the Military Sealift Command chartered ship MV Ocean Giant. Ocean Giant is one of three MSC chartered ships delivering supplies in support of Operation Deep Freeze, the Joint Task Force Support for Antarctica mission to resupply the remote scientific outpost.
