U.S. Marines with Combat Assault Company (CAC), 3d Marine Regiment, clear vegetation with an amphibious assault vehicle (AAV) from the Nu'upia Ponds Wildlife Management Area during the 35th annual 'Mud Ops', Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH), Jan. 28, 2020. The MCBH Environmental Compliance and Protection Department partnered with Combat Assault Company to utilize their AAVs in an effort to fight back against invasive plants and prepare plots of wetlands for local water fowl.
