Kerri Haider, veterinarian and branch officer-in-charge, extracts a tooth from a military working dog, assisted by handler Master at Arms 1st Class Shane McClennen, assigned to Marine Corps Security Forces, at the Veterinary Treatment Facility on Naval Base Kitsap-Bangor, Jan. 22, 2020. The Army is the only branch in the U.S. Military to offer veterinary health services. The top priorities are to provide support and healthcare to military working dogs, support comprehensive public health by providing technical oversight to animal health, food defense, and food protection missions, as well as developing soldiers, civilians, leaders and teams.
