200131-N-GR168-1137 ARABIAN SEA (Jan. 31, 2020) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Handling) Airman Shamus Fraser, center, verifies that Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Fuels) Airman Tyler Strohl, right and Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (Fuels) Airman Fernando Guevara, all assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS New York (LPD 21), have removed all chains from an AH-1W Super Cobra helicopter, attached to the Blue Knights Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 365 (Reinforced), on the ship’s flight deck. New York, with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group and with embarked 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
