Pearl Harbor, HI (16 January 2019) – Air Force Junior ROTC Cadets from North Allegheny High School and West Mifflin High School in Pennsylvania toured the Joint Typhoon Warning Center. The Commanding Officer, CDR R. Corey Cherrett, and LT Andrew Sweeney, Assistant Training Officer, briefed the students on the mission and commands of the Naval Oceanography community and how Naval Oceanography interacts with the Fleet. The students then received a tour of the Joint Typhoon Warning Center’s 24/7 operational watchfloor and learned about tropical cyclone forecasting.
