200203-N-NJ416-005 KEY WEST, FL (Feb. 3, 2020) Naval Air Station Key West security forces, wearing gear to protect them from non-lethal training ammunition, respond to an active shooter as part of the Citadel Shield-Solid Curtain exercise at the Veterans Affairs Clinic adjacent to Naval Branch Health Clinic Key West. Exercise Citadel Shield-Solid Curtain 2020 is a two-part, anti-terrorism force protection exercise that is being conducted nationwide on installations Feb. 3-14. The exercise is not in response to any specific threat, but is used to evaluate the readiness of fleet and installation security programs. NAS Key West is a state-of-the-art facility for air-to-air combat fighter aircraft of all military services and provides world-class pierside support to U.S. and foreign naval vessels.
