Pfc. David Schnieder, a food-service specialist assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 593rd Sustainment Troops Battalion, and attached to the 593rd Sustainment Brigade’s Dining Facility, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., garnishes a Hawaiin Kalua Pig as the temperature is inspected by a quality assurance evaluator during the Phillip A. Connelly Food Service Competition, June 12. The 593rd Dining Facility competed at the Installation Command’s regional level after being nominated for best-in-food-service at JBLM, earlier this year and will compete for the Department of Army level in October if they win.
