Submitted Photo by Clay Farrington. The aft main deck complete with 3-inch/50 caliber gun mounts in gun tubs on either side of the fantail. The model also features an antiaircraft crane similar to those found on battleships, but by the time the Des-Moines Class cruisers were entering the fleet in the late-1940s, there was not necessity to carry float planes and the steam catapults they required for launching.
