New Zealand Army Gunner Jayden G. Le Vaillant, a gunner with 163 Battery, 16th Field Regiment, teaches U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Dakota S. Myrick, a cannonier with Alpha Battery, 1st Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, about the L16A2 81 millimeter mortar system during training here, June 15. Le Vaillant, a native of Kaitaia, and Myrick, a 20-year-old native of Polk City, Iowa, are assigned as training partners over the coming weeks. Galvanic Kiwi is a U.S. Marine Corps and New Zealand Army training exchange designed to enhance interoperability and foster military-to-military relations between the U.S. and New Zealand.
