    PHILIPPINE SEA (Jan. 30, 2020) Soldiers with the Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade, Japanese Self-Defense Force prepare to launch their combat rubber raiding craft from the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) during launch and recovery drills. Germantown, part of the America Expeditionary Strike Group, 31st MEU team, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
