Montville, N.J., native Lance Cpl. Adrian Simone, an infantryman with 1st Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, lost both of his legs to an improvised explosive device in August 2011. Since then he has made a rapid recovery. He began rock climbing a month after the blast and walking with the use of prosthetics two months after.
