A U.S. Marine checks identification cards at Slocum gate at Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Cherry Point, North Carolina, Jan. 27, 2020. Gate sentries ensure anyone attempting to gain access to the installation are not a threat, whether they have the proper credentials or not. Our sentries are always looking out and scanning all persons and their vehicles, looking for suspicious behaviors of individuals attempting to come on to the installation.
