Airmen assigned to the Ohio National Guard’s 180th Fighter Wing perform a foreign object debris, commonly referred to as FOD, walk during exercise Green Flag-West at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, Feb. 12, 2020. FOD walks ensure objects that could enter the intake of an engine are removed from the area to prevent damage. Green Flag is a realistic, Air-to-Surface, joint training exercise designed to improve interoperability between aircraft while supporting ground troops by allowing U.S. military branches, as well as other NATO and allied nations, an opportunity to work together, as they would in military operations around the world.
