ARABIAN GULF (Feb. 13, 2020) - Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Chance Vaughan signals for an MH-60S Sea Hawk helicopter stationed aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD-5) to hover lower before dropping supplies during a vertical replenishment aboard the guided-missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64), Feb. 13, 2020. Carney is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
