KEYPORT, Wash. (Feb. 18, 2020) – Dr. Dawn Grebner, a bioacoustician, and Jerry Taylor, a range scheduler at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport, watches as young coho salmon are transferred at the NUWC Keyport pier to a barge that will take them to a holding pen where they will live before being released into the wild. NUWC Keyport, assists the local Suquamish Tribe and state of Washington in the project to supplement the numbers of coho salmon in Puget Sound in order to ensure the species' viability.
