SASEBO, JAPAN (Feb. 20, 2020) 2nd Lt. Tyler Williams, a future operations officer with Combat Logistics Battalion (CLB) 31, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), describes transportation capabilities to service members with Logistics Support Battalion, Amphibious Rapid Deployment Brigade (ARDB), Japan Self-Defense Force, aboard the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Germantown. During the exercise Marines and Sailors with CLB 31, 31st MEU, shared information and common practices with the ARDB Logistics Support Battalion. Germantown, part of the America Expeditionary Strike Group, 31st MEU team, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
