A U.S. Marine with Marine Rotational Force-Europe 20.1, Marine Forces Europe and Africa, jumps into the water while conducting remedial ice-breaking drills in Setermoen, Norway, Feb. 19, 2020. This training is mandatory for Marines on deployment to Norway in order to familiarize themselves with the feeling of falling into the water and how to get out. MRF-E focuses on regional engagements throughout Europe by conducting various exercises, arctic cold-weather and mountain-warfare training, and military-to-military engagements, which enhance overall interoperability of the U.S. Marine Corps with allies and partners.
