U.S. Air Force Brig. Gen. Todd Dozier, 5th Air Force vice commander; Royal Australian Air Force Air Commodore (O-7) Martin Smith, Combat Support Group temporary commander; and Koku Jieitai (Japan Air Self-Defense Force) Lt. Gen. Shinichi Kaneko, Air Support Command commander, and other distinguished visitors witness a historic World War II Japanese fuel drum storage at Tinian, U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, Feb. 19, 2020. Two storage bunkers were cut into a coral hill, enclosed in massive concrete shells and protected with steel plate doors. This structure was ignited sometime in the first days of the American invasion in 1944. The fire was so intense that a nearby battalion of Marines was forced to take a different position. For the first time, three general officers representing the U.S., RAAF and JASDF visited this historic site together. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Curt Beach)
