Timmothy Mcsheehy, a recovery non-commissioned officer assigned to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) sifts through excavated dirt during a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) joint field activity (JFA) in Khammouan province, Lao Peoples Democratic Republic, Jan. 18, 2020. For those killed-in-action, DPAA is charged with providing the fullest possible accounting for our missing personnel to their families and the nation. More than 81,900 Americans remain missing from World War II, the Korean War, the Cold War, and the Vietnam War.
