New Hampshire Blackhawk crews train in Alaska's frigid temperatures

EIELSON AIR FORCE BASE, Alaska - With the Alaska Range's Mt. Hayes towering on the horizon, Spc. Nathan MacDonald (left) and Sgt. Patrick Combs, both UH-60 Blackhawk crew chiefs for the New Hampshire Army National Guard's 1/169th General Support Aviation Batallion, stand by their helicopters as they try to warm in the sub-zero temperatures during Arctic Eagle 2020 on Feb. 26 near Fairbanks, Alaska.

With U.S. national interests and Dept. of Defense activities in the Arctic region focusing on securing, defending, partnering, planning, and enhancing capabilities, Arctic Eagle 2020 allows participants to assess their ability to conduct sustained operations in remote and austere locations within the Arctic region.
