Royal Thai Marine Chief Petty Officer First Class Pairoi Prasarnsai shows how to handle king cobras as part of jungle survival training during exercise Cobra Gold 2020 at Ban Chan Khrem, Chanthaburi, Kingdom of Thailand, March 2, 2020. Prasarnsai, a native of Chaiyaphum province, Thailand, is the Chief Petty Officer of Reconnaissance Battalion, Marine Division, Royal Thai Marines. Marines learned essential skills necessary for surviving in a jungle environment, such as making a fire, eating plants and alternative ways to stay hydrated. Exercise Cobra Gold 20 is the largest theater security cooperation exercise in the Indo-Pacific region and is an integral part of the U.S. commitment to strengthen engagement in the region.
