FORT BENNING, Ga. – In a November 2016 photo, an M1A2 Abrams tank at Fort Benning maneuvers during a mock combat engagement. Abrams tanks and crews will be front-and-center at the arduous Sullivan Cup Tank Crew Competition here May 4-8. The prestigious Sullivan Cup is open to the public. It’s held here every second year and brings together top tank crews from the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps and foreign military partners in a demanding test of their tank crew fighting skills. Slated to compete this year are crews from: 1st Infantry Division, 1st Cavalry Division, 1st Armored Division, 3rd Infantry Division, 4th Infantry Division, 11th Armored Cavalry Division, the Army National Guard, the U.S. Marine Corps, and the armies of Australia, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.
