Michigan Army National Guard Infantry Soldiers and Reserve Officers Training Corps cadets of 1st Battalion, 125th Infantry, Rear Detachment, conduct an air assault mission using UH-60 M Black Hawk helicopters at Camp Grayling, Mich., June 21, 2012. The 1/125 Infantry is currently deployed to Afghanistan, the soldiers and ROTC cadets in Rear Detachment are honing their infantry skills for the day the unit returns so they can integrate into the rifle companies they are assigned to. The objective of the training is to allow recently assigned soldiers to maintain the skills they learned at Infantry One Station Unit Training and for the officer cadets to lead combat patrols in a high stress training environment to prepare them for the rigors of the Infantry Officers Basic Course they will attend after they are commissioned as officers.
