Lee Grubbs, U.S. Army Mad Scientist Initiative director, presents opening remarks to participants of the Mad Scientist Initiative and The College of William & Mary’s Project on International Peace and Security (PIPS) Program event at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia, Feb. 28, 2020. The event allowed PIPS research fellows the opportunity to present their research to an in-person and online audience of military members and civilians. The student’s research focuses on emerging international security issues and the development of original policy recommendations to address these challenges. The topic areas presented at the event included weaponized information, artificial intelligence, and bio convergence, each representing a year’s worth of research by each of the fellows (U.S. Army photo by David Miller)
