1st Sgt. Ursula R. Kirnes, 1188th Transportation Battalion, 595th Transportation Brigade, lights a red candle during the Noncommissioned Officer (NCO) Induction ceremony, at Camp Arifjan, March 11, 2020. The red candle signifies the history of the Army and the blood shed throughout its history. Sergeants from 840th Transportation Battalion, 1188th Trans. Bn., and 1st Theater Sustainment Command also participated in the time-honored tradition of officially recognizing newly promoted NCOs and welcoming them into the ranks. The purpose of the 595th Trans. BDE, which is based in Kuwait, is to move, deploy, and sustain the armed forces, to deliver readiness and lethality in the Central Command area.
