SASEBO, Japan (March 2, 2020) Machinery Repairman Fireman Samuel Cope, assigned to the submarine tender USS Emory S. Land (AS 39), makes zinc rods for corrosion prevention on the saltwater systems of the Avenger-class mine countermeasures ships USS Patriot (MCM 7) while Land made a scheduled port visit to Sasebo, March 2. Land is deployed to the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibilities promoting partnerships and enhancing relationships with partner nations in the Indo-Pacific region.
