Lt. Col. Edward Lang, the commanding officer of Marine Transport Squadron 1, recieves the Chief of Naval Operations aviation safety award from Brig. Gen. Thomas Gorry, the commanding general of Marine Corps Installation East, June 27. The CNO aviation safety award is an annual awards program that recognizes Navy ships, Navy and Marine Corps installations and people for outstanding performance in promoting environmental stewardship, according to www.navy.mil.
