U.S. Army Sgt. Shannon Hernandez from Monument, Colo., stands by her Humvee at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, Oct. 9. Hernandez, a gun truck driver, is assigned to the 1144th Joint Logistics Task Force (JLTF), which runs supply convoys from Kuwait to Iraq. The 1144th JLTF deployed to Kuwait in the spring of 2007 to support Third Army (Forward) and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
