Heavy wave action on Lake Erie is absorbed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers revetment along Route 5 in Athol Springs, NY, March. 20, 2020.
40,000 motorists a day face hazardous conditions between Buffalo and the Southtowns because storms from Lake Erie cause water, ice and debris to overtop the road and wall along Route 5. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Buffalo District's Athol Springs Shoreline Protection project will rebuild the seawall and protect our community.
