Marine Maj. Gen. Karsten S. Heckl, left, elbow bumps a Marine assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 264 at Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina, March 30, 2020. Heckl and the Marine bumped elbows to comply with Center for Disease Control recommendations to avoid contact with others, such as shaking hands, to minimize the spread of the virus. The visit to the air station allowed leadership to check-in with Marines and address concerns caused by COVID-19. Heckl is the commanding general of 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
